I’ve learned that there are three levels of mindset:
- Victim mindset
- Hero mindset
- Creator mindset
Our experience of life at any given moment is largely dependent on which of these three mindsets we are operating from.
In VICTIM mindset, we see our life happening to us. Others are “annoying us” or “making us angry.” The weather isn’t cooperating, so we can’t have fun. My teacher is a harsh grader, so I will never get an A. Our happiness is dependent upon whether others are “behaving” and “being thoughtful.” There are lots of villains in our story.
When we progress out of victim mindset, we come into hero mindset. Instead of being the victim, we are actually the HERO in our story. We recognize that we have challenging circumstances, but we actively use our power to have a positive impact. We are putting out fires, working hard, getting things done. No one is to blame for how we think, feel, and behave. And we choose to be proud of ourselves for how we show up everyday.
But the next level is even more intentional and rewarding. In CREATOR MINDSET, we are consciously and actively creating the life we want. We focus our efforts entirely on things WITHIN our control, and completely let go of things we can’t. Those things we hand over to God (or the universe or whatever higher power you believe in). We envision our future and everything we want to feel and experience there. Then each day, we raise our vibration to that place and hold space for the creative inspiration that we know will come.
I learned recently that the emotions that hold the highest level of vibration are: LOVE, GRATITUDE, EMPOWERMENT, JOY, KNOWLEDGE, and FREEDOM. We make our best decisions when fueled by these emotions.
I still catch myself in victim mindset sometimes. And I’ve gotten pretty good at being the hero of my story. But I am opening up to the abundant life available to me if I stay in the driver’s seat and actively CREATE my life with God’s help.
The possibilities are endless.
Go create something amazing today, my friend.
